Admissions and Financial Aid Deadlines

Nov. 1 – Spring Transfer admission application deadline.

Nov. 1 – Spring Transfer applicants seeking financial aid must submit the CSS Profile and IDOC. Students must fill out the FAFSA as soon as possible when it is released in early December.

Nov. 15 – Early Decision application deadline. Your submission needs to include the Early Decision Agreement form, which can be submitted directly through Common App if you check the Early Decision box. If your Early Decision application is submitted and complete by Nov. 15, you will be notified of your admission decision in mid-Dec. If you are applying for need-based financial aid and have met the filing deadlines, your financial aid award will be included.

If you decide that Lafayette is your first choice after Nov. 15, you still may submit an Early Decision II application, along with the Early Decisions Agreement form, until Jan. 15 or you may convert a Regular Decision application to Early Decision II until Feb. 1. Early Decision II candidates will be notified of their admission decisions in mid-Feb.

Nov. 15 – Early Decision I candidates seeking financial aid must submit a CSS Profile and IDOC. Due to the FAFSA being released by the federal government later this year, this form is due January 15.

Mid-Dec. – Notification to Early Decision I candidates who met the Nov. 15 deadline.

Jan. 5 – Early Decision enrollment deposits due for accepted students.

Jan. 15 by 11:59 p.m. applicant’s local time – Regular Decision and Early Decision II application deadline.

Jan. 15  – Deadline for Early Decision II applicants and Regular Decision applicants to submit the CSS ProfileIDOC and FAFSA if seeking need-based financial aid.

Feb. 1 – Deadline by which Regular Decision students who have applied by Jan. 15 may change their application to Early Decision II. The Early Decision Agreement form must be submitted by this date to effect the change. Applicants will be notified in mid-Feb.

Mid-Feb. – Notification to Early Decision II candidates.

March 1 – Early Decision II enrollment deposits due for accepted students.

Late March – All students’ admissions decisions released via their Lafayette portals. Notification of Marquis Award or Lafayette Award scholarships are included in the acceptance letter. Financial aid packages, also known as College Financing Plans (CFP), are released on students’ Lafayette portals for students who completed financial aid forms by the deadline and were awarded financial aid. Regular Decision acceptance letters are also mailed via US mail to domestic students.

May 1 – Regular Decision enrollment deposits due. Deposits submitted after this date will be accepted on a space-available basis only.

May 1– Fall Transfer admission application deadline.

Aug. 2Deadline by which first year students who would like to defer their enrollment to the following fall semester should email Admissions at admissions@lafayette.edu with details of why they are seeking to defer and their plans for the upcoming year. A review will be done and the student will be notified of a decision within a few business days.
