What do you get when you bring a ‘coffeehouse hour,’ food trucks, and live music to the Quad on a sunny Friday afternoon? The first annual Lafchella. The event, which was created out of a desire to replace the spring concert and still provide a safe, fun way for students to experience music, was sponsored by the Lafayette Activities Forum (LAF), the Lafayette Intersectional Music Society (LIMS), and spearheaded by Sabrina Sicilia ‘22, LAF’s programming chair of music and coffehouse.

Musicians who performed included local acts Womansplainers, Cutie Freak, Nutmeg Psychosis, Mike Frank & Friends, and Mojohand.

“I wanted to put together an event that involves bringing together the student body in a way that was still mindful of the restrictions we have going on, which is why an outdoor quad concert-type event seemed to make the most sense! I wanted to have student performers and bands from Lafayette, as well as bands from the local Easton community, in order to bring us all together one last time before the end of the semester,” said Sicilia. “I think by including performers from both the Lafayette and Easton community, it helped in making the event more meaningful (and fun!) after a long and arduous semester recovering from the pandemic.”
