Interviewing can help you enhance your Common App as you give voice to all the pieces we review as part of your application. Sign up for an Admissions Online Interview or an Alumni Online Interview with a Lafayette alum. If you have questions about interviews, consult the FAQs. Please note that a student can complete ONE interview, whether that is a virtual interview, an alumni interview or an interviewed through a community based organization (Schuler Scholars, Achievement first, Ideal, etc.). Interviews continue through February 1, 2021.
If you sign up for an Admissions Online Interview, you will be interviewed by one of the following
If you sign up for an Alumni Interview Online, we try our best to match you with a Lafayette alum. If an alum is not available, we may pair you with an admissions director or senior interviewer.
An Admissions Online Interview allows you to connect with a current senior interviewer or admission director. If you have lots of questions about or want perspectives on campus life, residential living and classes, an Admissions Online Interview may be the right fit for you. These interviews take place weekdays at appointed times (see below).
An Alumni Online Interview gives you the opportunity to connect with an alum who has been a student at Lafayette, but now can look back on their experiences and see them with a different lens. If you have questions about or appreciate perspectives on outcomes after graduation, including the alumni network, how internships and graduate school play into getting a job, career pathways beyond your time at Lafayette, an Alumni Admissions Interview may be right for you. These interviews take place at a time deemed convenient for your and your interviewer.
Be assured that both types interviews carry the same weight in the admissions review process. It makes no difference with whom you interviewed, however, the fact that you interviewed can make a positive difference in your application.
An interview is not required, but it is recommended.
